Our farm is located on 110 acres in the beautiful foothills of the Berkshire Mountains in Copake, NY. We take pride in practicing 100% organic methods of farming and striving to be as sustainable as possible. We give nutrients back to the soil as we take from it, continuously cover cropping, using innovative organic pest management methods and reducing food waste by preserving produce and turning it into value-added goods. We are Certified Organic through NOFA-NY Certifiers and all Fruits, Veggies, Herbs and Cut Flowers are 100% USDA Certified Organic. We are entering our 8th year in operation and look forward to growing food for you and providing the our community access to affordable, local and organic options.
Deep Roots Farm NY began in 2015 on One Acre in North Salem, NY. We quickly outgrew this land and headed up to Columbia County, NY where land was more readily available and housing was more affordable We increased our production to 6 acres in 2017, focusing largely on growing ingredients for our value added products as well as carrying a diverse variety of fruits and vegetables for our markets and CSA. In 2019 we cultivated 20 acres and became Certified Organic. In 2020 we cultivated 31 acres and maintained our organic certification. In 2021 we cultiavted 42 acres and this year have expanded our fields even further, up to 53 acres with 7 acres of rotational cover cropping.
Deep Roots Farm NY’s Mission is to Provide the Local Communities Access to Affordable, High Quality, Fruit and Vegetables through means of Organic and Sustainable Crop Production.
We have a 5 year old Daughter (Scarlett), and we know all about wanting to have a diet complete with organic foods or foods that aren’t submerged in poison! We want our daughter to eat as healthy and clean as possible and we want to share this food with our surrounding communities at an affordable rate.
We accept Farmer’s Market Nutrition Checks and WIC checks for all Produce that we sell.
